The suspended village in Pont-en-Royans
This market town is acknowledged as one of the most original in the Dauphiné region thanks to its Suspended Houses with colorful facades which overlook the Bourne River. Pont en Royans owes its charm to the ingenuity of the men who, during the sixteenth century, built this village on a height to facilitate the wood trade.
Today, capital of the canton, this village has become the tourist capital of the Royans region.
Don't miss : The Banks of the Bourne, the Suspended Houses, the picturesque roads of the medieval village and the Water Museum.
