The crocodile farm is a private, 8000m² zoological park, where over 350 specimens of several species of crocodiles and turtles can be observed. Apart from the touristic aspect, this farm raises crocodiles for reproductive (for various zoos) or scientific purposes.
It is situated in the town of Pierrelatte in the Drôme region. Inaugurated in July 1994, this site, unique in Europe, enables these species to evolve in a tropical climate in a greenhouse, which is heated by hot water from the Tricastin power plant. As well as the fauna this farm grows specific tropical flora (carnivorous plants, tropical ferns, orchids etc....)
