Grenoble cable cars/ The Bastille (60km)

In the center of Grenoble...
Welcome to the Bastille, a small fortified mountain at the crossroads of the three alpine valleys. Its cable cars were the first of their kind in an urban environment, prior to Madrid, Rio de Janeiro or New York.
An original trip...
In just a few minutes, night or day, the famous "bubbles", take you up in the air from the old part of the city to the fort of the Bastille. A site accessible to all, equipped for pushchairs and persons with restricted mobility.

In fact, in 1934, a cable car for tourists was built on the slopes of the mountain from the left bank of the Isère. It was the first urban cable car in the world.
Since then, the site of the Bastille has become one of the favorite walks for the inhabitants of Grenoble and tourists.

A rare view...
... of the Alps, as far as the Mont-Blanc; of the city at sunset, when the lights go on.
Explorations and emotions...
...listening to the history of the site, the builders, the panoramas and the techniques. Other artistic or sporting surprises await you...
