
They form a canyon, situated downstream of Saint-Pierre-de-Chartreuse
Magnificently wooded, these gorges are overlooked by impressive limestone hog backs to which the pine trees cling in the most eccentric positions.
Along the whole length of these gorges, which stretch over six kilometers, numerous calcareous water springs can be found. They are occupied by Polystichum aculeatum (Hard Shield Fern). This tufted fern grows in cool, damp environments.
